Encounter: I had to wait for my laundry and went to this lovely hotel to have a tea. I got more than expected: a wonderful tea, some sweets and three very curious girls working at the reception making my wait very short. As I questionned them at the same time, some answers are quite similar as they got influenced by each other.

Encounter: Adi was our guide for the tour to see Komodo dragons on Rinca Island. He has been working a long time in the parc and we saw 9 dragons with him which is rather rare in this time of the year as it is the breeding season. Furthermore, he knew a lot about the dragons and answered all our questions.

Encounter: Memes picked us up at the airport which was part of the Rinjani Trekking tour we have booked. His English was limited, but we had lots of fun with him and he had a lot of patience with us finding an ATM to get out a higher amount of money.

Encounter: Yar was our guide on the Rinjani Trekking. We had good times with him and the porters and after the trekking we quickly went to his place to say hello to his pregnant wife and to leave them some clothes.

Encounter: Dan was one of the two porters who carried our equipment and food for the three days of trekking. It was crazy to see all these porters in flipflops trekking up and down that mountain with way too much weight on their shoulders.
